Azerbaijan Convention Bureau held an Open Doors event in Baku

The Azerbaijan Convention Bureau held an Open Doors event in Baku on January 31st. The event, which took place in the Park Inn by Radisson Baku Hotel, was chaired by the Minister of Culture and Tourism of Azerbaijan, Mr. Abulfas Garayev.

The main purpose of the event was to present the new strategy of the Azerbaijan Convention Bureau, which operates under the Ministry of Culture and Tourism. In addition to presenting the concept, goals and directions of the activities of the Azerbaijan Convention Bureau, strategic issues were discussed. More than 100 authorised representatives of the hotel, travel agency, restaurant and other hospitality sectors participated in this event.

The Azerbaijan Convention Bureau not only brings together a rapidly developing network of public and private sector partners, but also creates new and innovative opportunities in order to nourish the relationships with the international business events industry.

The Azerbaijan Convention Bureau, with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Azerbaijan, as well as other relevant state agencies, develops and implements a strategy for the development of business tourism in the country, along with other economic areas. The main purpose of the organization is to strengthen the reputation of Azerbaijan as a world-class and vibrant location for conventions and meetings. This is done by providing valuable information and support services as well as the protection of the interests of local conference industry partners.

The Azerbaijan Convention Bureau with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and other government agencies held the Baku Shopping Festival for the first time in Azerbaijan from April 10th and May 10th, 2017. This project was repeated in the Autumn of last year, from October 15th and November 15th, and by doing so the BCB managed to successfully organize this festival for another year. Both festivals were very welcomed by the guests of our city, local buyers and participants in the trade sector.
