Minister of Culture and Tourism awarded staff of Azerbaijan Convention Bureau
On May 24 award ceremony was held in Boulevard Hotel on the outcomes of Baku Shopping Festival. Minister of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Azerbaijan Abulfas Garayev addressed the event and stated that the first festival has been successful. The Minister noted that the first-ever festival both in the country and the region was organized in line with the Strategic Road Map on Tourism Development approved with the respective resolution of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
Stressing broad resonance of the first festival, the Minister mentioned that timing and schedule of the next event will be announced shortly. Over 500 stores are expected to join the second festival planned at the end of this year and extension of Tax Free scheme is envisaged.

Ulviya Mir-Gasimova, Director of Azerbaijan Convention Bureau, was awarded “Honoured Tourism Worker” sign for high organizational level of the festival.
The following staff of Convention Bureau was awarded for organizational efforts at the first Baku Shopping Festival: Sohrab Farkhadov, Farida Akhundova, Nigar Nazarova, Firuza Mirzayeva, Fariza Gasimzadeh, Sevda Omarova, Dinara Yusifova, Aytekin Guliyeva.
In the interview to the official website of the festival (www.bakushopfest.com) after the event director of Azerbaijan Convention Bureau Ulviya Mir-Gasimova noted she believes “Honored Worker of Tourism Industry” award that she and some her employees have received is a sign of high appreciation of the staff she leads. U.Mir-Gasimova expressed her gratitude to management of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and Minister Abulfas Garayev in particular for their trust.
